Without further adieu, we would like to proudly introduce Barrel Of Stout aka Stout!! Stout is a lovely 2016 16.2h TB who recently retired from the track after 26 races. This stunning, classic bay has only had one owner through his entire racing career... and they were also his breeders!! He was very well loved by them and they are thrilled to see one of their own go on to do great things in a second career. Stout is an easy going guy. Easy to handle on the ground, quiet in his stall, good in turnout, good for the farrier, and overall is a pleasure to be around. We were definitely impressed by Stout upon watching him go around at liberty!! He has three lovely gaits... a nice swinging walk, a big, ground covering trot with good use of his shoulder, and a powerful canter with easy, natural changes. While his movement was lovely to watch.... his jump.... OMMMGGGG!!! This boy can JUMP!! And he absolutely LOVES it!! Stout shows incredible natural ability over fences with a good eye, knees to eyes scope, good bascule, and an obvious passion for it. When left to run around our outdoor ring, Stout eagerly takes himself down the jump chute, and then continues down full lines of jumps... all on his own accord, with zero encouragement from us!! It is quite entertaining and enjoyable to witness his exuberance with jumping!!!

Stout has not yet been restarted, but we do not foresee him being a challenge to work with or restart. Since coming to us, Stout has had his teeth done, feet done, deworming, ulcer treatment (we do it for all of our OTTBs), chiropractic adjustment and acupuncture!! He has gained a good bit of weight and is looking and feeling great!!! Stout is a very mild cribber, but it is controlled with a collar. He is very sweet, affectionate, and enjoys attention and being doted on. He is undoubtedly going to make someone very happy!!
